In October, Twin River FCCLA members helped inform the Twin River elementary students on how to “Be Safe & Be Seen on Halloween”. They fundraised to purchase glow sticks for every student in K-6th grade, provided 5 tips on how to be safe on Halloween, and handed out the glow sticks with instructions to use them on Halloween in order to be safe in the streets. These members, along with the help of the FCS 7 students also put their 4 safety tips on stickers, which were placed on candy bars and handed them out at the local trunk or treat. Extra glow sticks were also provided at the local trunk or treat in order to keep all young members of the community safe. This project supports the FCCLA National Program in Action FACTS, which stands for Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety, a Peer Education program.
