FBLA member Cooper Zabka and FCCLA members Elle Cromwell and Callie Held were recognized as part of the 25th annual Commissioner’s Recognition for Student Excellence in Nebraska Career & Technical Education on Monday, November 21.  The recognition ceremony was held in the Nebraska State Capitol Rotunda followed by a reception at the Cornhusker Marriott. Outstanding members of Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) were recognized for receiving top honors at their 2022 national conferences.  Certificates were presented by Lt. Governor Mike Foley and Deputy Commissioner Brian Halstead. Cooper Zabka received this recognition by earning 2nd place on the Spreadsheet Applications Production test at the National FBLA Competition. Elle Cromwell and Callie Held received this recognition by earning 1st place at the National STAR Competition with their Chapter Service Project Display  project this past summer.

 

The ceremony began with an introduction from the FCCLA State Vice President of Programs Gina Alba followed by special remarks from Deputy Commissioner Halstead and Lt. Governor Mike Foley. The presentations of awards then took place with leaders from each of the CTSOs reading information about each member and awards received at nationals. Certificates were then presented by Lt. Governor Foley and Deputy Commissioner Halsteadt. Students from the following CTSOs were recognized:  DECA, Educators Rising, FBLA, PBL, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, and SkillsUSA.
