Twin River girls basketball fell behind 8-0 early versus Schuyler and
trailed 11-5 after one quarter. Solid defense and improved shooting
helped the Titans recover to lead 18-13 at the half. The girls outscored
Schuyler 17-5 in the third to extend the lead and did not look back on
their way to a 49-28 win.
Coach Pilakowski said, “Another slow start for us, which was
frustrating, but the girls recovered nicely and played a fairly solid
last three and a half quarters. Sometimes when you let an underdog hang
around and gain confidence bad things happen so I was proud of the girls
for responding to the adversity early in the game. We have shown in
some stretches that we can play really good basketball but the
consistency is just not there yet. Our best basketball is definitely
still ahead of us.”
Delaney Reeg led the Titans with 19 points in the victory. Clara
Preister and Chloe Pilakowski added 12 apiece. Hannah Yrkoski, Emma
Yrkoski, and Tricia Kunkee each tallied a basket to finish off the
scoring for Twin River. The Lady Titans are back in action Tuesday
afternoon at 2:30pm on the road in Central City. JV girls will play 2
quarters starting at 1pm.
